Crazy idea about large scale break out sessions using Live widget(s) in howspace

So, I want to experiment with creating Live video interaction for participants at the IDG Summit Online (Oct 11-12, 2023). A scenario I am working from is that we might have up to max 2000 participants live online at any given time, primarily watching an embedded stream from youtube. But then we want to offer those who might want to join in small group dialogues at given points in the schedule. My ideal scenario would be to keep participants in howspace and have clear and simple buttons below the Live stream.

My thought experiment was this:

• We want to have groups of 4 ppl
• whereby limits us to 20 breakout rooms per Live widget
• We can let in 4x20=80 ppl in to each Live widget (using "Knocking" feature) - would of course be amazing to have the Limit available function for the Live widget in this case
• We put 25 Live widgets on a page and get our volunteer facilitators to put joiners into breakouts
• We instruct participants to go to the next meeting if they are not let in (if meeting is "full")

What do you think about that solution? It's a bit of a labor intensive workaround to compensate for not having 100 or more breakoutrooms to offer in one single meeting... but still, it's theoretically/technically doable, right?!

And yes, our option would be to send the participants through links outside of howspace with Zoom large meeting with 100 break out rooms available.

Yes, it will be cool to see how this might work in practice. I am thinking that it might work to use for "speed dating" as well. Great to see that it was put in the backlog. Thanks!
