Follow your participants' progress

The Progress feature in Howspace brings clarity and structure to learning and transformation processes by allowing trainers, admins, facilitators, and leaders to easily follow participants' progress. This is especially valuable for self-paced learning, helping learners stay on track while providing admins with quick insights into individual progress. 

By selecting activities in the Workspace Manager, admins can create a clear path for participants, with a progress sidebar to guide learners and help them understand what’s expected. This feature simplifies progress tracking, offering both learners and admins clarity and direction in achieving learning outcomes.

The Progress feature is an improved version of Activity Collection and will replace it!

Major Improvement

Improved path modes

We’re excited to announce that the recent updates to our path modes! These changes aim to improve usability and functionality across both facilitated and self-directed path modes. Here’s a detailed breakdown of what’s new:

Generic Changes Affecting Both Path Modes:

• Step Structure: Only "normal" containers are displayed in the path; admin-only, hidden, and scheduled visibility containers are excluded. Each "normal" container is now called a step, with automatic numbering ("Step 1," "Step 2," etc.) that admins can edit and rename as needed.
• Navigation Improvements: Path navigation bullets have been replaced with a dropdown menu, making it easier to see which step contains what content (based on admin-defined names).
• "Always Visible Containers" Section: A new section at the top of the edit page allows admins to add containers visible across all steps. Admin-only containers can also be added here for consistent admin content across steps.

Facilitated Path Mode Enhancements

• Step Titles and Descriptions: Steps can now include optional descriptions visible to admins in the navigation bar.
• Facilitator Avatars and Controls: Admins can see which facilitator last changed the active step. Also if someone is typing, their name is displayed (unless typing anonymously), allowing admins to delay step changes if necessary.
• Visibility Rules for Active Steps: If the active step becomes hidden, admin-only, or scheduled, the system automatically switches to another visible step.

Self-Directed Path Mode Enhancements

• Paths are marked as complete immediately after the user reaches the last step (if no mandatory widgets exist) or once all mandatory widgets in the last step are completed.
• Upon completion, users receive celebratory "completed" feedback.
• After completion users can view the full page, if Admin has enabled it in Page settings (enabled by default).

Improved Page and Workspace Creation Flows

We’ve introduced significant improvements to both page and workspace creation processes, making them more intuitive and user-friendly. These updates aim to simplify workflows and provide users with more clarity and control during setup.

Page and Workspace Creation Enhancements

• Simplified Modals: We have seperated the modals for each of the different options for page and workspace creation.
• New page Options in Admin menu:
  • Empty page: Start from scratch.
  • Use Template: Select a predefined structure.
  • Generate with AI: Create a page with a custom prompt.
• New Workspace Options in User menu:
  • Empty Workspace: Start from scratch
  • Use Template: Select a predefined structure.
  • Duplicate: Duplicate an existing workspace.
• Template selection enhancements:
  • Templates are now more informative, displaying images and detailed descriptions to help users make informed decisions.
  • When selecting templates, users can easily navigate back to change their choice without starting over.

These updates make creating pages and workspaces faster, more intuitive, and highly customizable, whether starting fresh, using templates, or duplicating existing content. We’re confident these improvements will enhance your overall experience.
